Shallow Well water for garden

UPDATE: I had to change my design multiple times please read the blog posts below for the whole story and updates.

I have decided to put in a shallow well right next to my garden so I can pump out groundwater and water my garden.  I have been studying up on it for quite a wile and even doing a ton of research as far as legality and viability of such a project.  First of all I learned about it here: drillyourownwell.com and I did a ton of research on that website, on youtube and on other websites on how to do this the right way.  Then I went to my state water laws and did a ton of research and information gathering, I found that where I want to put this shallow well, I can go 30 ft without a permit if I do it myself.  I showed this to my wife, and got the green light!

Materials

I purchased most of the materials from my local hardware store but this is what I got:

  • 2in PVC ‘T’
  • 2in PVC to 3/4in PVC coupler (2 of these)
  • 2in PVC slip to threaded coupler
